This week has been busy but what week isn’t? I thought I had settled on a Methodology for my Doctoral research only to find that the options were more complex than I first imagined. I had considered Participatory Action Research(PAR) as a good fit only to discover when I proudly presented what this to my Doctoral students group I was told the question did not fit. I must say after listening to the others and learning of the different methodologies out there I began to question my choice. I was then offered the concept of Participatory Research (without the action) sounded good, then Community-Based PR, even better. So now, by Thursday, I need to Google, read and try and understand how CBPR works and how to frame my question to fit. How many times do the questions get re-designed, re-thought? I have got to the point where no matter how much I think about what I want to learn and change it does not seem to form into a coherent question. I did read somewhere that the question often comes once the research begins in PR?? It is going to be a very busy week….
