2023 Year of the Rabbit and I am ready to hop!

I have just realised how little I have blogged here. Mainly as last year (2022) was a hard slog. But I finally submitted my PGR9 (Doctoral Proposal) and will hear back soon if I have the all go to start my actual research.

My final “question” and what I am researching will be “What barriers and enablers impact new graduate LMC midwives in Aotearoa New Zealand for confident and competent perinatal mental health screening?”.

A bit of a mouthful as questions go but I am sure it can be changed as I move forward. I have started on my Ethics proposal in the hope to submit as soon as I am officially a doctoral candidate.

In regard to my methodology/methods I finally settled on Interpretive Descriptive (Sally Thorne) as my work will be practice based rather than theoretical. I am aiming to make some changes in the education of NZ midwives.

I am determined to actually blog once a week and have set myself Mondays to do this-goodness knows why sure there is a good reason. Hopefully I will hear before next Monday if my proposal has been accepted and I can finally begin the real research.
